Longtime Quotidian Theatre Company mainstay Steve LaRocque will perform his one-man show Byline: Ernie Pyle this Monday, November 12, at the main theatre of Montgomery College’s Cultural Arts Center: 7995 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD. The show begins at 11am, and is free and open to all.
Byline: Ernie Pyle consists of excerpts from the World War II dispatches of Ernie Pyle, one of the first “embedded” reporters. LaRocque has taken all words in the script from Pyle’s own.
Part of the Cultural Arts Center’s Journeys and Voices series, this performance of Byline: Ernie Pyle is co-sponsored by the Paul Peck Institute for American Culture and Civic Engagement at Montgomery College, the Department of English, Reading, World Languages, AELP, and Women’s & Gender Studies. The piece was first given a public reading at The Kennedy Center’s Page-to-Stage Festival, and LaRocque performed the piece for a rapt Quotidian audience earlier this year.
The venue’s address is 7995 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD. For further information on this performance, contact Dr. Francine Jamin, director of the Paul Peck Institute for American Culture and Civic Engagement, at francine.jamin@montgomerycollege.edu or 240-567-1387.
